Last week, I went on a short road trip from Delhi to Chandigarh with a few of my close friends. It was a plan we made suddenly, just to take a break from our busy daily life. We started early in the morning, around 6 AM, hoping to avoid traffic and enjoy the smooth drive on NH-44. The weather was perfect – not too hot, not too cold – and the excitement of the road trip made it even better.
We were having fun singing songs, sharing old memories, and enjoying the beautiful views on the way. The road from Delhi to Chandigarh is one of the best in North India. Wide highways, clean roads, and greenery on both sides make it a joy to drive. After a couple of hours, we started feeling a little hungry. We didn’t want to stop at a regular dhaba or a fancy restaurant. We wanted something simple, tasty, and homemade-style.
Just then, one of my friends remembered someone had once told him about a place in Zirakpur where you get food that tastes just like home. We searched on the map and found it – Organicfreshindia Food Point. It wasn’t very far from the highway, so we decided to give it a try. And trust me, it turned out to be the best decision of our trip!
As we reached the restaurant, we were welcomed with a peaceful and clean environment. It wasn’t very big, but it had a warm, homely vibe. The staff was polite and friendly, which made us feel very comfortable. We looked at the menu, and as always, the word “paratha” caught our attention. Being North Indians, how can we say no to hot, stuffed parathas? We all agreed to order aloo parathas with curd and pickle.
When the food arrived, we couldn’t stop smiling. The parathas were big, perfectly cooked, and smelled amazing. With the first bite, we all looked at each other and said the same thing – “This tastes just like home!” The stuffing was flavorful, the paratha was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the curd was fresh. Even the pickle had that typical homemade taste that we usually miss when we travel.
While eating, we talked to one of the staff members and asked them about their food style. They told us that they focus on keeping everything fresh and healthy, using good quality ingredients, and avoiding too much oil or heavy spices. That’s why their food tastes so clean and comforting. We could really feel the difference.
It’s not easy to find such food on highways these days. Most places either serve very oily food or fast food that doesn’t taste fresh. But Organicfreshindia Food Point is truly different. It felt like we were sitting in our own homes, eating breakfast made by our moms.
After finishing our meal, we sat there for a few more minutes, relaxing and enjoying the calm surroundings. We even took some photos outside the restaurant to remember this lovely stop. Before leaving, I thanked the staff and promised to visit again. It felt like a hidden gem in the middle of our journey.

We continued our drive towards Chandigarh, but the taste of those aloo parathas stayed with us. Even after reaching our hotel, we kept talking about the food and how surprised we were to find such a good place by chance.
I really want to share this experience with all of you. If you are ever traveling between Delhi and Chandigarh and passing through Zirakpur, I strongly suggest that you make a quick stop at Organicfreshindia Food Point. Whether you are looking for a light meal or a full breakfast, this place will not disappoint you. Especially if you love homemade-style food, this is the perfect spot.
In today’s fast life, we often forget how important clean and simple food is. This restaurant reminded us of that – that happiness sometimes comes in the form of a hot paratha and a bowl of fresh curd. It’s not just food; it’s comfort, it’s nostalgia, it’s love on a plate.
So next time you’re on this route, take a short break at Zirakpur and visit Organicfreshindia Food Point. You’ll leave with a full stomach and a happy heart.
Until next time, happy travels and happy eating!
