Kumbh Mela
The city of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh is preparing to host the grand Maha Kumbh Mela from January 13 to February 26, 2025. This massive religious event is expected to draw millions of pilgrims and tourists from around the world. For those planning their visit, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers convenient options for booking tents at the event.
To accommodate the influx of visitors, IRCTC has launched two major infrastructure projects: the “Mahakumbh Gramme” and the “IRCTC Tent City.” These projects aim to provide comfortable and accessible tent accommodations for the millions of expected attendees.
Booking a tent for the Maha Kumbh Mela is simple and can be done online via IRCTC’s official tourism website, www.irctctourism.com. Travelers can select their preferred dates and accommodation types with ease. For additional support, IRCTC provides personalized assistance through WhatsApp services and toll-free helplines, ensuring a hassle-free booking experience.
IRCTC Tent City offers a range of accommodation categories to suit various budgets and preferences. The options include Deluxe, Premium, Deluxe on royal bath, and Premium on royal bath. Pricing varies based on room type and peak dates:
The fire-resistant tents are designed to ensure safety and comfort, featuring essential amenities and services. Guests can enjoy buffet-style dining, on-site medical assistance, and eco-friendly transportation options such as battery-operated vehicles and shuttle services. These facilities highlight IRCTC’s dedication to providing a seamless and memorable experience for pilgrims.
In addition to IRCTC’s offerings, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) is introducing over 2,000 Swiss cottage-style tents in Sector 20 (Arail). These luxury accommodations, available from January 1 to March 5, 2025, cater to both domestic and international visitors. The tents come with high-end amenities such as WiFi, air conditioning, and sophisticated furnishings, with three categories to choose from: Villa Tents, Maharaja Tents, and Deluxe Blocks. Pricing ranges from INR 1,500 to INR 35,000 per day, ensuring a diverse array of options for all kinds of travelers.
With world-class accommodations and facilities, both IRCTC and UPSTDC are committed to enhancing the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 experience, making it comfortable and unforgettable for millions of attendees.
